How It Works
Registration, Authentication & Process
- Register on the link GO TO AUCTION.
- You will need a Valid MAJOR Ontario Credit Card. In your Name. It will be Authenticated for validity and for Identification purposes. NO gift cards or prepaid Cards etc.
- Bid on only the items you want, very similar to eBay. Very easy to navigate.
- Auction Starts usually every Friday at noon, you can view items and bid. Auction will begin closing at 7 PM on Tuesdays and will go through each item. There will be Items added daily into the Auction until closing date and time of auction.
Auction Details
After the auction closes, invoices will be sent to the email associated with your account. Your winning bid amount will be charged to the registered card on file. Please review your invoice and ensure your payment details are up to date.
Please note that pickups are available only between 12 PM and 7 PM on Wednesday and Thursday of the week’s auction. If you are unable to pick up your items during this period, you must North Star Auctions before the end of pickup hours on Thursday. Otherwise, your items will be considered abandoned.
We do not deliver or ship at this time. Pick up at our pick up location will be at 560 Anne St. North in Barrie. It will be the Hanger Building 8.
Auction Policies
Pick up days will be the following days after the auction. Wednesday and Thursday between 12pm-7pm. Your invoice will be mailed to you the next day after the auction usually before noon time. There will be no appointments for pick up. First come first served. If you do not receive any mail from us the next day after action please contact us. Also check spam mail.
This is a online Auction and Online viewing of the auction. The auction will have dates that our items will be posted for viewing and bidding. Usually it will be live 5 days before the closing of the auction day.
Daily uploads of items will be added to the auction.
Bidding Mechanics
Auction items can be bid on until the vary last minute before closing time. This auction is a soft closing. Meaning if you bid with 2 seconds left before closing time, your bid will automatically add 2 min to time for the item. Everyone will have a chance. If no one else bids with in the extra time, then item will close, highest bidder winning. Note that bids placed can not be lowered or removed.
There are no reserves. Please do your research on the item you want to bid on. The retail price on most items will be listed and the condition, along with details in the description section of the item in the auction.
This an auction NOT a retail store. There are NO RETURNS. Ultimately everything in this auction is AS IS. We only take returns when our description of the item is incorrect or we make a major error in the description. Photos of the item used do not always reflect the item listed, but it’s the description we use will be accurate on all counts. When it comes to returns, everything is at our discretion.
Quality Control
We Have a Strict Quality control system that every item goes through to ensure best describing the item and its condition listed. If you purchase an item through us and it’s completely different than what we describe, we offer an exchange or refund within 48 hours of pick up to resolve the issue. After 48 hours of pick up no claim can be done.
Fees and Charges
Action bidding usually starts at $2 – $5 an item.
There will be a buyers Premium fee on every item bought of 15% in addition to a handling fee of 1 dollar per item.
An example: An item you won was $50, with the buyers fee and handling fee the total would be approximately $58.
The HST will be added to all items no matter the payment method.
